Lines of tractors were pictured heading into London today as farmers gathered to protest against food security.

Save British Farming and Fairness for Farmers of Kent, two campaign groups, have joined together for a “go-slow” convoy and drive around Westminster. Organisers expect 50 to 100 tractors and other farm vehicles to attend.

The protesters are campaigning against “substandard imports and dishonest labelling”, which they say are undercutting British farmers and risking the nation’s food security.

Liz Webster, founder of Save British Farming, said: “In 2019, this Government was elected with a mandate to uphold our standards and deliver a ready-made deal with the EU which would see British agriculture boom.

“It is now entirely obvious that they have totally betrayed us all.”
