Yeovil Town Blow Away Rivals Weymouth In Local Derby

Yeovil Town FC tonight blew away local rivals Weymouth Town in a record breaking game at Huish Park.

The game which saw Yeovil Town FC break the record for the largest ever crowd for a National League South fixture with over 6200 in attendance was one way traffic as Yeovil Town destroyed their local rivals on the pitch.

Mark Coopers players took Weymouth apart and could have quite easily won 5-0.

Everything is now fully on track for the Glovers for a promotion winning season to return to the National League from which they were relegated from last season under former club owner Scott Priestnall, who placed the famous West Country club on the verge of liquidation.

Thankfully for Glovers supporters the club was saved by local businessman Martin Hellier, at first many supporters were dubious but now it’s clear – Hellier is determined to win and rise the Glovers to every challenge ahead of the club.

Tonights performance leaves Yeovil Town 4 points clear at the top of league with the club likely to extend it further as matches go on, under the management of Mark Cooper who has clearly gelled a promotion winning side.

Fans tonight were delighted at the result – David Rodgers said: “ I walked away tonight delighted and chuffed, it’s been along time coming after all that’s gone on, we were a soap opera of disaster under Priestnall.Thankfully Cooper rode it out when many would have walked, now he has a great chairman backing him and he’s delivering the business “

The future certainly is looking good for Yeovil Town right now as they press on both on and off the pitch.
