Yeovil House Stormed By Armed Police

A house in Yeovil was stormed by armed police this morning, with a man in his 40s arrested for threatening to kill.

The incident on Fosse Way, near the Aldi supermarket, saw the armed officers in a three and half hour standoff with the eventually arrested man after tasers were deployed to take the man down.

The police had to deploy large bangs for distraction tactics despite residents fearing they had heard gunshots.

The ‘bangs’ were deployed before storming the property.

It’s understood the woman resident of the property called the police at 5.35 AM after the man threatened to kill her; he was also charged with criminal damage and threats to kill.

An eyewitness told Global247news, ‘ There was police everywhere, with guns, then some bangs went off, and the police stormed into the property shouting ‘ Armed Police.

I saw the police bring out the man with his hands behind his head – clearly, he had been zapped by the taser; the police told us it was a domestic incident and that the area was now safe.

The man in question is now in police custody.
