A dangerous dog has been seized in Pontypridd after attacking a 3-year-old say Police
An air ambulance had to be called to Pontypridd after a young 3 year old was seriously attacked by a dangerous dog on Sunday.
South Wales Police have now reported on the terrifying incident.
They have stated: “We can confirm that a three-year-old child was attacked by a dog in the Barry Sidings Country Park, Pontypridd, on Sunday afternoon. A member of the public intervened to prevent further injury to the child, who was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The dog has been seized by officers under the dangerous dog’s act, and an investigation is now underway.”
This follows the Welsh Ambulance statement yesterday that revealed:
“We were called at 2.10 pm to the Barry Sidings Country Park in Pontypridd, Sunday, August 22, to reports of a person requiring medical treatment following an incident involving an animal.
“We sent three rapid response vehicles, one emergency ambulance and the Wales Air Ambulance to the scene.
“One patient was taken by road to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, for further treatment.”
An eyewitness to the attack, Simon Coombes told Global247news, “It was savage, that dog should not have been off its lead, thankfully that brave man went to the child rescue otherwise it could have been far worse, the dog needs shooting!”
