Customers trying to access their Santander, HSBC, Natwest, and Halifax online accounts have been locked out as servers appear to be down.
First Direct and Marks & Spencer banks, which are both run by HSBC, The Co-operative Bank, Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland customers are also reporting issues.
Website and mobile app services are affected this morning, leaving users locked out of their bank accounts.
It is understood that the outage is linked to Sky broadband and Wi-Fi, say experts.
More than 900 customers have reported the outage at Santander on Downdetector, a website that tracks which services are down or having problems.
It’s left customers very frustrated this morning, especially those paid weekly; furniture store worker Tom Wass told Global247news, “I get paid today and pay my bills before heading into the store, Friday is the worst day for me for this to happen, banks are closing branches daily and want us all online, but they need to get their house in order!” he stormed.
