Former Sheffield Utd manager is flying back from Ibiza to take Swansea Manager post.
Chris Wilder is currently at Ibiza airport with his wife awaiting to board and take up his new position as Swansea City manager.
Wilder is boarding his flight as bookmakers odds were slashed from 33/1 to 9/4 within an hour as the news broke of the pending move.
The news filtered through as his long term number 2 Alan Knill left Sheffield Utd this morning with immediate effect.
Now Wilder flies home for an expected press conference tomorrow.
Swansea supporters at Ibiza airport asked Wilder about the reported move to which he gave a wry smile and didn’t deny the move as the odds crashed on him taking the hot seat at the South Wales club.
Swansea, who have been searching for a new manager since the departure of Steve Cooper, son of former referee Keith Cooper, who left the post 12 months early, terminating his contract with the Swans, are expected to announce the appointment tomorrow afternoon with a press conference planned for the afternoon at the Liberty Stadium.
Wilder, known for the fantastic recruiting of unknown and low budget players during his time at Sheffield Utd, is exactly what Swansea currently need after being forced to unload their best talent lately.
