Martha Hancock stepped out Friday morning in front of flashing cameras.

Dignified Martha Hancock steps out after husband’s affair claims. Her large sunglasses couldn’t quite hide her devastation over claims of her husband’s affair with aide Gina Coladangelo. She was dignified and refused to comment on her husband’s infidelity when asked by reporters.

Mrs Hancock, an osteopath and mother-of-three, has always been fiercely protectective of her private life and family. She does not attend public events and opts to keep a rather low profile. She is descended from a viscount and a baron and was born Martha Hoyer Millar.

Her father, 84-year-old Alastair Hoyer Millar, is an old Etonian and was secretary of the Pilgrim Trust between 1980 and 1996 while her mother, Virginia Hoyer Millar, 70, is an antiques expert. Her grandfather was Frederick Millar, 1st Baron Inchyra, a British diplomat who served as an ambassador to West Germany from 1955 to 1956, and the great granddaughter of the 1st Viscount Camrose, a Welsh newspaper publisher.

Martha met Matt while they were both students at Oxford University in the early 2000’s. They married in 2006 and have a daughter and two sons aged 14, 13 and 8. During an interview in 2014 Matt Hancock told how challenging his work-life balance is and said “I pay a lot of attention to timetabling. Both my professional and social and family time gets booked up a long way in advance and then you have to be strict about it.”
