A person has died after being hit by a train in Bridgend South Wales
The incident happened on the line between Bridgend and Cardiff at around 9 am this morning (Friday)
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line near Bridgend at around 9 am on Friday 4 June following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics attended the incident and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform their family.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Train services between Maesteg and Cardiff Central may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or suspended. Pencoed, Pontyclun, Llanharan, Wildmill, Sarn, Tondu, Maesteg Ewenny Road, Maesteg and Garth Mid Glamorgan will not be served.
Train services between Swansea and Cardiff are also affected by the incident.
According to Transport for Wales, train services between Swansea and Cardiff Central may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted via Barry. Llansamlet, Skewen, Briton Ferry, Baglan and Pyle will not be served.
