Yeovil Town Football Club supporters make history as they lay out the largest-ever flag.
Yeovil Town Football Club has always been steeped in history, although records have been broken again at the FA Cup giant-killers club.
Although it’s not the players making the history on this occasion, it’s its loyal base of supporters.
This morning saw supporters roll out the largest ever flag on the terraces before fans arrive to fly it above their heads in memory of their former skipper, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
The flag came about as 44 club supporters chipped in to produce the largest ever flag in the club’s history that will now fly at every home game, so Collins is never forgotten.
Flag organiser, Rodger McCabe a die-hard supporter of the West Country Club, told Global247news this morning of his pride.
The proud fan said: Today, we make history at our beloved club, and it’s a very proud moment and emotional.”
As he held back tears, he said: “Lee will never be forgotten and will always be a legend to us.
Although the tears finally flowed around the ground as Lee Collin’s daughters came out in full strip to admire the flag and have a kickabout before today’s game.
Sometimes pictures are far louder than words and today is one of those days.
RIP Lee Collins; the fans clearly will never forget you!
