Idiot drug dealer hides in Police Station to evade arrest

A hospital has admitted it’s mistake after a man was wrongly declared dead.

Hospital admit cock-up as dead man returns home after funeral. They said a patient, Goverdhan Prajapat, was wrongly declared as “unidentified”. The family of Omkar Lal Gadulia took the body from the hospital in the Rajsamand area of Rajasthan. Gadulia, an alcoholic, had gone to the hospital without letting his family know and was admitted with liver function problems on the 11th May.

Prajapat was admitted to the hospital on the same day for treatment however he unfortunately died  during his operation. Yogendra Vyas, from the police station in Kankroli, said “We had got a letter from the hospital authorities that a body was lying unclaimed at the mortuary for three days.

We then circulated photographs of the deceased man on various fronts to identify the body.” Gadulia’s family mistakenly identified the body as his, going on a scar on his right hand and police then handed over the body to them without doing a DNA test or post-mortem. Vyas said “The body was identified by the family members.

DNA testing and post-mortem by a medical board is conducted when the body is unidentified following which the body is usually handed over to municipality for cremation.” The family organised the funeral, which took place on 15th May.

Gadulia returned home on the 23rd May to shocked relatives, who thought they had attended his funeral.

Officials had to admit it was a blunder on the part of mortuary workers and nurses at the hospital. Lalit Purohit, Principal Medical Officer for the hospital, said “There was a huge patient load. The patient was admitted to the hospital through 108 ambulance service. The incident took place due to lack of coordination between the nursing and mortuary staff. Appropriate action will be taken in the matter.”
