The Government is advising people against travel to areas high with the Indian variant.
Stay away from Indian Variant infection areas say government. It has been revealed there are eight areas of England now badly affected by the Indian strain. Places on the list include Blackburn with Darwen, Leicester, Bolton and the London borough of Hounslow.
New guidance released for these badly affected areas tell people to social distance and meet outside rather than inside. It also urges people not to travel to these areas unless their journey is “essential”. The information was published on the Government website Friday without a big announcement. Bolton South East MP Yasmin Qureshi said she was “very angry” that the people of Bolton had been left in a difficult situation.
She said “I was not told about this new guidance and I don’t think anybody. I have only just found out about this new guidance, and it just shows the incompetence of the government in dealing with this.” She blames ministers for being too slow to put India on the “red list” of countries to stem the flow of the variant strain.
