BANGED UP: Vulnerable person BURGLAR Kevin Hallet

Man broke into homes of vulnerable residents in ‘mini crime spree’

Kevin Hallett, 32, burgled the homes of ‘elderly and infirm’ people at Glan Yr Afon sheltered accommodation in Caerphilly, targeting at least seven properties in a matter of hours.

Sentencing, Judge Neil Bidder QC said: “Burglary produces feelings of insecurity in victims and for that reason, it is particularly serious.

These offences involved quite clearly the targeting of homes of elderly, infirm, and vulnerable people. These are extremely serious dwelling house burglaries.”

Hallett was sentenced to a total of three years and eight months imprisonment.
