The mass fight was the brainchild of 22-year-old Josh Swain who, being completely bored during the pandemic lockdown, thought it would be a great idea to have a mock fight with the victor claiming the real name.
Swain, from Arizona, contacted other Josh’s on social media to spread the word.
A random location was chosen for the funny fight, Air Park in Nebraska, with hundreds showing up to participate in the Saturday silliness.
Organiser Josh Swain fought another Josh Swain from Nebraska is what was hailed as a “gruelling and righteous battle of rock, paper, scissors” to kick start the proceedings.
Josh won the battle (that would be the Arizona Josh!) and claimed the rightful title of Josh Swain.
Following this was the pool noodle fight where anyone called Josh could participate.
Most of the Josh’s taking part in this were in fancy dress, with outfits including Spider Man and Jedi robes.
A four-year-old called, surprisingly, Josh won that competition and was knighted with a cardboard Burger King crown.
Organiser Josh Swain said “I did not expect people to be as adamant about this as they are right now.”
