The Royals will not be wearing military uniform at the funeral this Saturday.
Royals will not be wearing military uniform at Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral. The Queen has announced that senior Royals in attendance will be in civilian clothes.
The move by the Queen will mean that the Duke of Sussex will not be the odd one out after stepping down from Royal duties.
Also it was reported that the Duke of York was considering wearing a military uniform to his father’s funeral.
He also stepped down from duties in 2019 over his friendship with Jeffery Epstein who is a convicted sex offender.
A Royal source said that the “no uniform” rule is the Queen’s way of finding a solution to the problems.
Although the funeral will break with Royal tradition for ceremonial funerals there will be a large presence of military personnel there to pay tribute to Philip after he got a distinction for his service in World War II.
Royal protocol means that Harry can only wear a suit with medals on at functions.
