Two Met Police staff receive misconduct notices over disappearance of Richard Okorogheye

Police said two men have been charged. After a “brazen” kidnapping in North London.

North London kidnapping in broad daylight sees two men charged. The incident happened in broad daylight as the victim was beaten and pushed into a vehicle.

Shocked witnesses said two men got out a Ford Transit van. And then punched the man before dragging him into the back and driving off.

Metropolitan police said the attack took place in South Woodford on Sunday afternoon.

Officers called to the scene managed to trace the van to nearby Chigwell.

It was stopped and the three men from it fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Sajid Asghar, from the Met’s East Area Command Unit, said. “This was a brazen act on the part of the suspects. Carried out in broad daylight while a number of shocked witnesses looked on.

Thankfully officers responded swiftly to get the victim to safety. And we are now appealing to the public to help us apprehend and bring to justice the dangerous individuals responsible.”
