Prince Charles has lead tributes saying he will miss his “dear Papa” enormously.
Prince Charles pays tribute to Duke of Edinburgh “his dear Papa”. He spoke to journalists outside his Gloucestershire home, describing Prince Philip as a “very special man” who “has given the most remarkable, devoted service to The Queen, to my family and to the country, but also to the whole of the Commonwealth.” He also said how appreciative he was of all the wellwishes from members of the public.
He added “We are, my family, deeply grateful for all that. It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this particularly sad time. Thank you.” The guestlist for the Duke’s funeral will be finalised on Thursday.
On doctor’s advice the Duchess of Sussex will not be attending. However her husband, Prince Harry, is expected to attend. The funeral will be televised to the nation on Saturday afternoon on the BBC.
