Lidl warning as FIVE DEAD so far due to meat products

The Food Standards Agency has issued alerts over Lidl mince that may contain pieces of plastic and some cooked chicken products manufactured by SFC that may contain salmonella.

The agency said Lidl is recalling Birchwood Beef and Pork Mince (23% Fat) as it may contain pieces of plastic. The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.

An allergen alert has also been issued over a number of pickled products.

Lidl GB is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Separately, SFC are recalling SFC Chicken Poppets and Take Home Boneless Bucket because salmonella has been found in the products. Five people have died from consuming this product.
