Yeovil legend and comedian Jimmy Quinn has passed away this afternoon
Yeovil comedian Jimmy Quinn has passed away this afternoon in a Taunton nursing home.
Quinn who spent many years in the Royal Navy and served in the Falklands war on HMS Invincible become a local legend with his jokes and humour as he took to the stage around the West Country before heading out to Tenerife in Spain to open his own comedy bar where he is still remembered by thousands.
As the news hit the Spanish holiday island this afternoon tributes have started to pour in.
Global247news recently reported how shocked Tenerife residents were on him entering a residential home
Barry Watkins said: “We all fondly remember Jimmy and his lovely family, today is a very sad day indeed – we have never forgotten them here on the Island and never will, he was a legend”
Meanwhile, hundreds are sharing their tributes in his home town of Yeovil Somerset across social media this afternoon.
Jimmy had sadly suffered from dementia and fought it right to the very end, only recently cruising around the Mediterranean with his family and stopping at some of his old haunts before Covid regulations struck.
He will sadly be missed in both Spain and Somerset as well as throughout the Royal Navy.
