During a Downing Street press conference Laura Kuenssberg accidentally left her mic on after the PM’s answer.
Laura Kuenssberg accidentally leaves mic on after PM answer and captures the mood of a nation: She seemed to have captured the mood of the whole country with her reply. It was an honest response that nobody was supposed to hear. During the briefing yesterday she asked “Should members of the public be booking summer holidays or not, whether at home or abroad?
The transport secretary this morning warned people against booking anything at all. And Sir Patrick (Vallance, the government’s chief scientific adviser), if I may, how concerned are you about the potential of the variant that has been picked up in Bristol, where there have been 14 cases in that city already, and suggestions it might be more transmissible than some of the other variants around?”
The PM rambled on in response, about it being illegal to go on holiday. And waffled somewhat unclearly on the ‘roadmap’ for coming out of lockdown. Kuenssberg was taken off air as the next question was put to the PM.
Well, that is what SHOULD have happened. But, for a moment, she could be heard still speaking, saying “Urgh, he didn’t answer the question there”. The lesson to all is make sure your microphone is turned off before saying anything !!
