BREAKING: '10pm curfew on pubs across England' to be announced by Boris Johnson

A blaze has erupted at the site of the world’s largest coronavirus vaccine manufacturer.

Huge plumes of smoke were seen above the Serum Institute, in Pune, Western India today. The site is producing millions of doses of the Covishield Covid vaccine, developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University.

Local reports said that the blaze was at a construction site at the large facility.

It is not thought the production of the coronavirus vaccine has been affected. But when Indian News Agency IANS contacted the company, they refused to comment on whether the fire had affected the plant.
