Actress Tanya Roberts, probably best know for her role in the James Bond movie ‘View to a Kill’ has died at the age of 65.
Bond girl Tanya Roberts passes away aged 65: She was taken to hospital on Christmas Eve when she collapsed after walking her dogs and was put on a ventilator however her condition did not improve and she passed away yesterday. Reports say that she was not ill in the days leading up to Christmas Eve and that her death is not COVID related. Her friend and representative Mike Pingel told news reporters “I’m devastated.
She was brilliant and beautiful and I feel like a light has been taken away. To say she was an angel would be at the top of the list. She was the sweetest person you’d ever meet and had a huge heart. She loved her fans, and I don’t think she realized how much she meant to them.” Born in New York as Victoria Leigh Blum she started modelling in her teens before studying at the Arts Studio alongside names such as Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen.
Her breakthrough into film came in 1975 when she starred in the horror movie ‘Forced Entry’ before going on to star in ‘Charlie’s Angels’ in 1980. In 1985 she starred alongside Bond actor Roger Moore in ‘View to a Kill’, playing the role of Stacy Sutton, a geologist and whistle-blower. Her television work included ‘Burke’s Law’, ‘Loveboat’ and ‘Fantasy Island’. In 1998 she started the role as Midge Pinciotti in the long-running TV show ‘That 70s Show’ however she left in 2001 after her husband became ill and eventually he died in 2006.
