After the body of a 4-year-old boy was discovered at flats in Plumstead, southeast London on Sunday – a woman has been charged with his murder.
Scotland Yard said that officers had been called to an address in Invermore Place, Plumstead on Sunday morning to find a ‘lifeless’ body and, despite attempts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have confirmed the child was related to the woman, whose name has not been released at this time, and that next of kin have been notified.
The woman, after being arrested at the scene, was taken into custody and formally charged later that day.
She was remanded in custody after appearing at Bromley Magistrates Court yesterday and is due to appear Wednesday at the Old Bailey.
said that inquiries are continuing and that a post mortem on the child is scheduled for Thursday.
