Spain's Costa del Sol struck with new mutant virus from UK

The UK Virus Variant Has Been Detected on Spain’s Costa del Sol

The Junta de Andalucía this morning registered the first cases of coronavirus of the new British variant in as many people who had just returned from the United Kingdom in recent days.

Three are patients from the province of Malaga and two from Granada, while another four cases in Malaga are said to be “understudy”.

Whilst the Costa del Sol had up to now escaped the new mutant virus, that spreads at an alarming speed of infection, it’s now struck the region which if data is to go by from the UK could spread quickly through Southern Spain.

The Costa del Sol ex-pat residents now fear further restrictions imposed on them if the virus spreads as well as further financial turmoil.

Davey Jones in Spain’s La Cala said: ” We were hoping for a brighter 2021 for our business here, but it’s not looking good so fat and many fellow businesses are struggling to, we need a clear run into 2021 but it’s looking very unlikely – if this new mutant spreads as it has at home, we could be in serious trouble”  Global247News Twitter
