The Met Office has issued a warning for strong winds this coming weekend that could bring disruption to many areas while we celebrate Christmas.
The warning mainly affects England and Wales with wind speeds reaching 60mph in many areas with some reaching 80mph. A yellow weather warning will be in place for England and Wales with disruption to power supplies and transport highly likely. Rain is also expected to move southwards from the North West and the unsettled weather looks like staying in the run-up to the New Year.
There will also be unsettled rainy weather and a chance of flooding in the South of the country over Christmas. Disruption to travel and power lines are also expected in the southern half of England and Wales, which is due to be the worst-hit by rain spreading across the nation.
