George Michael’s ex Fadi Fawaz was caught breaking into the late star’s London home, days before the fourth anniversary of his death.
The 47-year-old allegedly smashed the window at the £5 million townhouse near Regent’s Park and shouted at police officers: ‘This is my place. George wanted me to have it.’ The incident occurred at around 11 am on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Officers found a man inside the property. A window that had allegedly been smashed was later boarded up.’
Fawaz has had numerous run-ins with the police over George’s house since the Wham star died aged 53 on Christmas Day in 2016. The hairdresser had been living in the London townhouse since the popstar’s death, but after it emerged that George had not left anything for him in his £96.7 million will, his family tried to have Fawaz removed from the house.
