Somerset is set for Tier 4 lockdown from Boxing Day
As ministers are currently meeting to discuss the whole nation sources have revealed that the whole of Somerset is earmarked to go into Tier 4 full lockdown from Boxing Day.
The tier system was due to be reviewed on December 30 but now ministers are meeting early in an attempt to control the serial spreading of the new mutant version.
A close source to Whitehall revealed: ” One of the areas earmarked is the county of Somerset, hospitals are overrun with patients especially in Taunton and Yeovil, local MP’s have already been advised” he said.
” Weston Super Mare is another region in North Somerset, whilst it has been reduced recently to Tier 2 recently – it’s likely it will go straight into Tier 4″
” Although Somerset is not being singled out, many regions are earmarked, although Cornwall isn’t but likely to go to Tier 3″
The meeting is still in progress and the full outcome is expected to be announced later this afternoon.
