Matthew Sheridan appeared before Yeovil magistrates this morning after being charged by police for the murder of security guard Loius Bednall
The alleged murder that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning on Hendford Hill rocked the Somerset market town.
The 29 year old Sheridan, is recorded as coming from a nearby village known as South Petherton, although originating from Long Ashton in Bristol.
He appeared in court this morning flanked by two security officers in the dock and dressed in prison issue clothing, the defendant only spoke to confirm his name, age and address and did not enter a plea to the allegation.
The case was adjourned until Thursday (December 17) at Exeter Crown Court when Sheridan was ordered to appear before a judge.
He was remanded in custody until that date.
Two men in their 20’s were held by police over the weekend – it’s currently unknown if the second youth believed to be 20 years old and from the Martock village region of Somerset is set to be charged.
