The scene of the weekend murder in Yeovil Somerset has been reopened by police this morning as reports from Devon suggest the victim was from Torquay
Yeovil suffered a brutal murder on the weekend and investigations continue as police were granted an extra 36 hours to continue two men in their 20’s for questioning.
The murder that took place on Hendford Hill in Yeovil Somerset, is alleged to have been involved a 23 and 29 year old with the victim being 40 years old.
Although now reports from Torquay in Devon to the Global247news news desk, is that the victim of the brutal murder indicate that the man who died following the attack at Yeovil hospital from his life threatening injuries – was a security guard from Torquay.
Several readers from Torquay named the same person and his job role, although at this present stage until police confirmation is reported, the name will be upheld.
Timothy Walting from Torquay said: ” Everyone is talking about it in the town, we are a close knit community and many know the victims family well who are obviously devastated at this tragic event – he was a security guard apparently, how he’s got mixed up in this and ended up murdered no one is sure”
Avon an Somerset police haven’t as yet made any further statements since yesterday, when Detective Inspector Phil Walker said: “Our investigation is progressing at pace and I’d like to thank the local community for their patience and support while police activity continues at the scene, including searches and forensic enquiries.
“We’re keeping the family of the victim updated and are providing them with all the support they need at this very difficult time.”
The town of Yeovil remains in shock to the tragic events of the weekend, something residents are not used to in the market town.
Traffic routes up and down Hendford Hill are now reopen whilst the public of the town wait to see if the two held in custody are formally charged with murder or released on bail pending further enquiries.
