POLICE Arrest landlord In Murcia Spain on the Costa Blanca For Stabbing His Tenant
Police in Murcia, yesterday, Wednesday, December 9, arrested a 41-year-old Spanish man for allegedly threatening a tenant of his home, and inflicting serious injuries on him, with a large butchers knife.
Witnesses from the building claim the injured man had failed to pay his monthly rent to the man who attacked him, resulting in a heated discussion that escalated, with the aggressor taking a large butchers knife and inflicting several cuts to the other man, whilst also allegedly threatening another tenant who tried to calm the argument.
The landlord was apprehended and arrested on the street by the National Police, who also found the large knife on him.
Eye witness Josė Lopez told Global247news what he saw:
” I live in the apartment block but thankfully have a different landlord, this one went crazy, we could all hear the shouting and screaming – it was over rent owed, then they started fighting in the corridor and the landlord pulled out a large butchers knife and started lashing it at his tenant slashing deep cuts into him several times, on his arms and what looked like on his chest”
Laws currently in Spain due to the pandemic insist tenants currently can not be evicted.
