The BBC have announced that one of the nation’s favorite shows will be returning to our screens for a three part Christmas special.
Dawn French to reprise ‘Vicar of Dibley’ role in show’s revival: The announcement came with a photograph released of Dawn sitting alongside co-star James Fleet who plays the bumbling but well meaning Hugo Horton to Dawn’s Geraldine Granger. The three special episodes will be 10 minutes long and contain Geraldine giving sermons and chatting to her parishioners.
After the announcement earlier this week French said “Back in the dog collar, back in Dibley and back on your telly at Christmas. I couldn’t be happier. Bless you.” Earlier in the year the program returned for a special episode for the charity fundraiser “The Big Night In” with French once again donning her dog collar.
The show ran for two seasons between 1994 and 1998 and also produced 10 specials and a number of sketches for Comic Relief although sadly some of it’s favorite cast members have since passed away.
