Celebrity chef Gregg Wallace left the panel of “Loose Women” in hysterics after joking with them about the age difference between him and his wife.
The 56-year-old star of Masterchef couldn’t help himself while on the show on Monday after being asked by panelist Judi Love about what it’s like for him now being a dad to a baby.
His naughty reply was “You haven’t met Mrs Wallace, but I was really pleased when she had a baby because it’s someone at home more her own age to talk to.” His wife, Anne-Marie, is only 35 which leaves a 21 year age gap between the two. All of the panelists on the show fell about laughing. He went on to say “I’m overjoyed, honestly.
We’ve got Libby, who’s 23, who lives here, and she and her brother Tom, who’s 26, were both at the hospital when their baby brother was born – isn’t that lovely?”
Gregg, now on his fourth marriage, has spoken openly about the age difference and how it has inspired him to keep healthy. He told Closer magazine earlier in the year that “Having my baby boy made me want to be fit and strong. I can now go for long walks, which I wouldn’t have been able to do before. Anne being younger than me was even more of an inspiration to be fit – you can have an old husband but she didn’t have to have a fat, old husband.”
He added that “There is no way I’m going through the week without a pint of beer. But I’m careful most of the time and here I am, as fit as a butcher’s dog.”
