France increases police patrols during one month lockdown

Trying to contain a resurgence in the coronavirus France reinstated a one month lockdown from Firday 30th October.

Restricted movement has been set at 1km from your residence with the exceptions of work, family commitments and medical visits. Gilles Foliard, patrol commander, said that, in general, everyone was following the rules but will be asking for written proof if someone is outside their 1km zone.

The initial fine for a violation of the new rules is €135 and if three violations are made over a 30 day period the fine goes up to €3,750 with a 6 month prison term.

France’s daily COVID-19 death toll spiked by 854 on Tuesday (November 3), an increase unseen since April 15, while the number of people hospitalized for the disease went up by more than a 1,000 for the fifth time in nine days.  Global247News Twitter
