Cummings in a sticky position as possible charges for perverting the course of justice
Authorities have been handed a dossier accusing Cummings, the chief advisor to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, of perverting the course of justice and breaking coronavirus laws.
He has denied allegations of wrongdoing after he took his family on a trip to County Durham while the country was in the grip of the lockdown back in April.
His wife was showing symptoms of the virus at the time.
Although police had found afterwards that he may have been in breach of regulations when he took the trip to Barnard Castle, they said that they would not be taking the matter any further.
Lawyers acting for Nazir Afzal OBE, the former chief crown prosecutor for northwest England, have now sent investigators legal submissions calling for action to be taken.
