Gravestones of Ken Dodd & Cilla Black vandalised
Vandals have targeted the gravestones of Ken Dodd and Cilla Black at Allerton Cemetery in Liverpool.
A spokesman for the city council said that both of the headstones were attacked overnight on Tuesday.
He said “We were appalled to discover this morning that the graves of Cilla Black and Sir Ken Dodd had been vandalised overnight. Staff are carrying out repairs. We would urge anyone who has any information about the person or people responsible to contact the police.”
After dying at her holiday home in Spain in 2015 Cilla Black’s body was returned home to her native Liverpool and her funeral was held at St. Mary’s church in Woolton.
It was attended by many high profile stars such as Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Sir Tom Jones.
The burial that followed the service was in the cemetary where she was laid to rest next to her mother Priscilla and her father John.
Sir Ken Dodd died at the ripe old age of 90 in 2018 at his home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool where he had lived for the whole of his life. Thousands of fans gathered for his funeral at Liverpool Cathedral before he was laid to rest.
