The region of Murcia has totally shut down, it’s government announces.
The closure comes as regions across the country shut due to the national state of alarm set recently by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
The government have closed the regional borders in Murcia and police have stopped all movement between municipalities.
A curfew from 11pm to 6am has also been added.
There are 45 municipalities in Murcia and President of the region, , Fernando López Miras, is orchestrating the mayors of all 45 on rules set out.
Over 900 new cases of the coronavirus are being reported in Murcia hence the closure.
Cases have also risen drastically in the last few days. The government have stressed that people can still move freely in their own municipality but are to check the Spain government websites for more information.
