A toddler from Porter, Texas, accidentally shot himself on his own birthday party, shocked police detectives said.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office which operates just outside of Houston, said the boy shot himself in the chest after finding the weapon.
The investigation suggests that the boy found it after it fell out of a family member’s pocket at the child’s party.
Deputies said family and friends were celebrating the child’s birthday and heard a gunshot while playing cards.
The boy was rushed to a nearby fire station for medical treatment but sadly died at the scene.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office its “thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this tragic accident.”
There is no indication that any arrests have been made on the part of the accident.
Cries to make firearms illegal in America have raged for years, especially from the Democratic Party with Joe Biden leading the cause.
However, President Donald Trump fully stands behind the second amendment, one of the ten amendments to the Constitution comprising the Bill of Rights, stating: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
