There has been a huge sigh of relief amongst British ex-pats in Spain and friends and family at home in the UK after a girl was found to be alive and well after a Facebook-led manhunt.
Lilly Hutson, 21, was last seen in the Valencia region of Spain nearly two weeks ago and was on a boat with a man, according to sources.
Her friend, Kirsty Trotter back home in the UK, launched an appeal via Facebook by opening a group called ‘Lilly Hutson missing page’ in a bid to find her friend.
The group attracted over a dozen thousand members within a day and reached people as far as the ex-pat community in eastern Spain who helped get word around.
The buzz managed to reach Lilly – who was feared dead after being gone without word for so long – and she checked herself in with a snapshot of her from her Snapchat account named as ‘Lilly Slutson.’
Posing with two fingers in a peace sign from a location in Alicante, Lilly said: ‘Broke my phone for two weeks and everyone thinks I’m dead. Sorry guys but I’m all good. So baffled right now.’
Her friend Kirsty confirmed the news by saying that Lilly had messaged her saying she was ‘alive and well.’
Hundreds of people instantly took to the comments to breathe a sigh of relief and to wish Lilly well.
We here at Global247News wish to thank everyone involved especially the ex-pat community in Spain for helping word to reach Lilly.
