Long before the Big Brother house and the Love Island villa. The most famous property on our television screens was the Big Breakfast house. And it can now be yours if you have a spare £5.7 million floating about.
The Big Breakfast house goes on the market: However viewers who avidly watched Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughn every morning will probably not recognise the house as it stands today. Without the garish exterior and interior. The 6 bedroomed property laid out over 3 floors. And boasts sprawling gardens with a swimming pool, a workshop, and a massive open plan living/dining/kitchen room.
Originally built as 3 lock-keepers cottages it was transformed into one big house for the Channel 4 breakfast show. And is currently laid out as two properties but the inter-connecting doors are still there.
The house, located at Fish Island in Bow, suffered extensive fire damage not long after the breakfast show was axed in 2002. It was subsequently restored. And went on to feature in other television shows such as BBC Two’s Neneh and Andi Dish It Up and BBC Three’s Singing With The Enemy.
The Big Breakfast first hit our screens in 1992. And ran for 10 years before it’s final show. A host of famous names have presented it from the multi-coloured living room. Including Chris Evans, Kelly Brook and Zoe Ball as well as the main presenters Vaughn and Van Outen.
