It has been reported that a man who has climbed to the top of Trump Tower in Chicago is threatening to jump if he does not get to talk to the President.

Man scales Trump Tower: The man, in his twenties, used a harness to haul himself up the 16 floor tower and was spotted at around 5.30pm local time. He was still hanging there hours later on Sunday evening. As authorities tried to talk sense into him and get him to come down. It is reported by the Chicaco Sun-Times that the man wants to speak to President Donald Trump. And has threatened to cut the rope from which he is dangling from if his wish is not granted.

He has been quoted as saying “I am protesting”. Crowds below have been videoing the dramatic scenes on their mobile phones whilst it appears that the man is also videoing himself at the top of the tower. It remains unknown why the man wants to talk to the President. And he has made no other demands.

Police have reported that they have someone who is trying to negotiate with the man and talk him down. The roads near the tower, that overlooks the Chicago River, have been blocked while the situation is ongoing.
