Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our screens on Saturday night for the big launch show.
Strictly Come Dancing returns: It will see the celebrity contestants being paired up with their professional dancing partners. Before taking to the floor to perform a group routine. Among the celebrities taking part this year are actress Caroline Quentin, comedian Bill Bailey and former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.
They are joined by DJ Clara Amfo, BBC pundit and former NFL star Jason Bell, former Royal Marine and Invictus Games medallist JJ Chalmers. Also soap star Maisie Smith and Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh.
Former boxer Nicola Adams, reality star Jamie Laing, The Wanted’s Max George and YouTube star HRVY, real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell, will also be competing. According to analysis this year’s line up is the most diverse ever to be seen. One third of the contestants are non-white. And this year also see the first same-sex couple, with Adams being paired with a professional female dancer.
Although this year’s series will be shorter than the normal ones due to the coronavirus pandemic. Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas will return to the panel this year. Bruno Tonioli will be joining the panel later. As he is currently committed to being a judge on the USA show Dancing With The Stars.
The BBC said however that he will appear on the Sunday night results show via video link. And will be back in person towards the end of the series. Strictly Come Dancing will air at 7.50pm on Saturday on BBC One.
