Businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri has admitted to carrying out an affair with Prime Minister Boris Johnson. After allegations came to light that, according to reports, he used his position of power as London Mayor. To garner her with favoured treatment.
Businesswoman ‘admits to affair with Boris Johnson’: He managed to avoid a criminal investigation after being accused of influencing payments amounting to thousands of pounds of taxpayers money to her. And making sure that her place was secured on foreign trade trips that he undertook. The police watchdog found no evidence that any of this actually took place.
According to a national newspaper Ms Arcuri admitted to the affair with Johnson while he was still married to his first wife, Marina Wheeler. Earlier, during an interview with the Daily Mail, she was asked the question if it was true that she had an affair with him. To which she replied “I think that goes without saying. It’s out there but I don’t want to talk about it”.
Also, she described in the interview his “avalanches of passion”. City Hall carried on an investigation after the Independent Office for Police Control (IOPC) closed in May. The IOPC said that it would have been “wise” for him to declare that he had an association with Ms Arcuri. And they had evidence showing that they had an “intimate relationship”.
Mr Johnson, who was London’s Mayor from 2008 to 2016, had previously welcomed the IOPC’s findings. Also he criticised the “vexatious claims” against him.
