New French Prime Minister announced by President Macron

France imposes night-time curfew to fight second wave of corona virus.

President Macron has announced a night-time curfew in Paris and eight other cities to try to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The curfew will apply to the capital and its suburbs as well as Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Saint-Etienne, Rouen, Toulouse, Grenoble and Montpellier.

Around 22 million people will be affected by it. Essential trips will still be permitted. Anyone found breaking the curfew will be fined €135.

The measure will come into effect from Saturday and last for at least four weeks. People will have to stay in from 9pm until 6am.

A public health emergency has also been declared.
