A police officer has killed his lover by strangling her. After she revealed to him that she was thinking about telling his wife of their affair.

Police officer kills lover: Timothy Brehmer, 41, a constable with the Dorset police and from Hordle, Hampshire has denied killing his lover. Nurse Claire Parry, also 41, in a car park at the Horns Inn pub. The Crown Court at Salisbury was told that the affair had been going on for 10 years.

Parry had convinced herself that her lover was having other affairs behind her back. So had written his wife a note about their relationship the court heard. The jury heard that not only did she think that her marriage was on the rocks with her husband, another Dorset police officer, but that Brehmer was also going to leave her.

After researching on Facebook she convinced herself that her lover was carrying on with at least two other women. Richard Smith QC, prosecuting, said that the information that she had gathered had made her see Brehmer in a new light. And she thought he was a ‘womanizer’.

A note found on Parry’s phone addressed to Brehmer’s wife Martha said. “Dear Martha, what I am going to say is likely to come as no surprise to you. I am figuring you have always suspected but tried to ignore. There is no easy way to say it but, put simply, your husband is a man w****.

Myself and others have fallen victim to his words and charms. His promises of being in a loveless marriage to only staying for the sake of your children.

He sucked me in years ago and made me believe he and I had a future until he realized you were pregnant.

He didn’t tell me about you at first, that he was married, and when I found out he told me he was going to leave. I have since realized I was not the only one he has weaved this story to. There are at least two more”.

Brehmer’s wife Martha is also a police officer. The prosecutor told the court that Parry and Brehmer had met up in the car park of the Horns Inn pub on 9th May. And after a heated argument, Brehmer strangled her with such force that it broke her neck. And she passed away in hospital the following day.

Brehmer admitted to causing her death but not murdering her. Saying he was trying to use force to get her out of the car. The trial continues.
