Blocks Go Up In Spain's Madrid As Holiday Exodus Starts

Police forces have just set up checkpoints around Madrid city to enforce the new regulations applied by the Government. If you need to drive through Madrid, please take it into account, because at this time there are many traffic jams around the capital.

There are also checkpoints at “Adolfo Suaréz” airport, so we advice you to come with enough time if you need to check in your baggage.
Although many residents outside of Madrid feel its too late saying the majority left yesterday.
Kevin Davies from Benidorm told Global247news: ” Day too late, they all started arriving here last night, they knew how to beat the system once again”
Meanwhile on the Costa del Sol Brian Patterson said: ” Here we go, once again the flood of those from the Madrid starts but once again the coppers miss the boat, we need road blocks down here too, turn them round and send them back, we don’t want them here spreading the virus”
