Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of another teen was found in a lake in Wigan.
Police were called to Scotsman’s Flash, a lake in the area, at around 2 pm on Sunday to ‘reports of a concern for the welfare of a man’.
There, they found a young man’s body in the water. He is believed to have been in his late teens as well.
Greater Manchester Police have made a statement saying: “Enquiries are in their infancy and officers remain at the scene whilst investigation work is carried out. Officers are keeping an open mind as the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are established.”
The police today are carrying on with the investigation whilst the three teenagers are held in police cells under interview.
It’s believed that an extension order is being prepared for today to detain the three for longer than 24 hours rather than releasing them on bail.
