Jordan Brown from Barry in South Wales handed down a life sentence
This morning he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 24 years. When he is released he will be subject to licence for the rest of his life.
Judge Rhys Rowlands QC said Mr Davies was killed in a “savage attack” by “cowardly” Brown.
Mrs Davies, the mother of Jordan described her feelings since the horrific street murder,
Mrs Davies said: “Jordan died at the local shopping area a few minutes from my house. I now try to avoid going there but when I see it takes me straight back to that day, seeing the tent and the police.
“I first found out something had happened on Facebook. I went straight to town and there were a lot of people there when I saw the tent I knew it was bad.
“The police were not able to tell me what was happening and I was in total shock. I received 10 messages and was then finally told by police he had died.
“I was in shock for weeks and I still am. I took six weeks off work but had to go back because I wasn’t able to afford it.
“Since his death, my life has been lived in stages, first of which was the funeral and going through the various court dates.
“I think I have been so focused on the trial I haven’t started to grieve properly. It’s caused problems with myself and my husband because I’ve taken things out on him instead of the person responsible.
“I find it difficult to explain my emotions because I am a private person. The only way I can describe it is I have lost my sense of humour and I am no longer the person I was before.
“Jordan is on my mind 24/7, he is the first thing I think about before going to bed and the first thing I think about when I wake up.”
