Eagle-eyed viewers of Netflix drama The Crown have spotted a historical error. In photographs of the programs scenes released on Tuesday ahead of season four’s release date in November.
Historical error spotted : It was picked up in an image of newcomer to the show, Emma Corrin. Playing Lady Diana Spencer. Season 4 is mainly set towards the end of the 1970’s. But one picture of paparazzi taking photographs of Lady Diana clearly shows a modern red London bus driving past in the background.
Fans have had a sneak peek at images from the next season. Which sees Gillian Anderson playing Margaret Thatcher. As well as Olivia Colman playing Queen Elizabeth and Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, who are both returning in their previous roles.
Viewers took to social media to comment on the error with one saying. “Season 4 of The Crown is out in November. I wonder if the time-travelling new Routemaster bus will also be in it?!”. While another one commented “Not the Boris bus in the background of the Diana shot though”. The popular program also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles and Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother.
Soon, Season four will be available to stream on Netflix from 15th November.
