A teenage boy has been found dead on train tracks near a railway station.
British Transport Police were called to Queensborough railway station at 4.44 pm yesterday following a report of a body on the railway tracks.
In a statement, they said: “Officers and paramedics attended but sadly a teenage boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family have been informed and a report will be prepared for the coroner. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
Although reports on social media claim a person had jumped from an iron bridge near the railway station – this has not been confirmed as of yet.
Southeastern train services on the Sheerness line were suspended while emergency services responded to the incident.
