Eight people have died at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant in South Wales as its ravaged with Coronavirus
As the hospital has made national headlines due to being basically “shut down” as 84 patients have contracted Coronavirus it’s now revealed that 8 people have died.
Paul Mears, the new chief executive of Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board, has told members of the board that the deaths were linked to the recent spread of COVID-19 in the hospital, at a meeting earlier today.
Mr Mears also said six more people are currently in intensive care.
The hospital that serves the Rhondda Cynon Taff area of Wales which itself is currently under lockdown is set to remain “closed” whilst authorities try and contain the situation.
Meanwhile, local residents in the Llantrisant area are already in hot debate on the subject.
Chris Haslam asked: “I would ask how old were these 8 people, and what other underlying health issues they had they’ll put everything as so-called COVID now, just saying it’s sad to hear about deaths but COVID this COVID everything it’s flu season apparently” on social media before he was shot down by tree surgeon Dr Rowley from Porth who replied and pointed out:
“Ask the 200 odd nurses that have died in the UK only from Coronavirus, I’m quite sure it’s not the flu it’s some virus that’s a lot stronger if its killing working nurses.. and you see there are people who still struggling and having problems after recovering from it 4 months ago. I was told by a nurse it’s a massive eye-opener when she went back to work and seen something she had never before -people on ventilators ages from the 20s up to 80s struggling to breathe that’s the flu?”
