A parking space bust up that led to a shoot out in Birmingham has left one dead
A bust up over parking spaces Sunday afternoon left three people shot, one of them fatally.
The shoot out erupted about 2:15 p.m. in the 3700 block of 42nd Street North.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin said East Precinct officers arrived to find 42-year-old Michael Alexander McGee lying on the side of the road suffering from a bullet wound.
McGee was taken by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The sergeant said the condition of the other two wounded victims is seriously life threatening.
Mauldin said the preliminary investigation indicated a dispute took place over the parking spaces prior to the shots being fire. He did not release additional information and did not say how many people fired shots. No arrests have been made as yet.
